Plaintiff grain elevator worker was approximately 100 ft. in the air working from a crane’s basket and was attempting to secure a spout’s flange with bolts when the spout broke free from its flange since it had been only tack welded. This caused Plaintiff to fall into the river and sustain a closed head injury and leg amputation at the knee.
